On the same date as above (25th of Av) we also harvested 90 kilograms of grapes from a vineyard that was left ownerless in Bat Ayin (Gush Etzion). When it is not Shmittah, the organic Pinot Noir vineyard is managed by our friend Yisrael Horowitz. Yisrael did not water all year so the grapes were virtually raisins at the harvest. The wine was kept separate from the Merlot throughout the whole process, and in the end we ended up with 32 bottles. The wine was absolutely delicious! Regarding the ageing process, we opened up our last bottle in 2013 and it was just as we remembered if not better!
